MonaLisa has been "playing with dolls" for as long as she can remember! Schooled as an artist, MonaLisa graduated college and ended up trading in her palette for a seat in the boardroom in order to make a living! Thus, MonaLisa begrudgingly worked by day as a TV executive and in her spare time as an artist – focusing mostly on acrylic painting and charcoal drawing. After suddenly and tragically losing her husband at age 42, MonaLisa hung up her boardroom hat and decided to reshape her focus on doll making – her true love! Her earliest works of "doll art" were touchups or refurbishments of old and often-times ratty and unwanted vintage Barbie dolls. While MonaLisa enjoyed restoring these poor girls to their former beauty, she longed for the creativity of expression that only OOAK dolls could fulfill. She soon began to experiment with her own creations, using Obitsu ball-jointed dolls in both 27cm and 60cm. While no two MonaLisa dolls are exactly alike – customers have often remarked on the wistful yet somewhat sultry expressions that are common to the MonaLisa doll. MonaLisa typically creates "spec" dolls but will occasionally accept commissions.

About the Dolls:
Each MonaLisa doll is hand painted using only the finest quality acrylics and sealers. Acrylic eyes are attached using "Super Sculpey" and can be removed, if so desired. To care for your doll, please AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT, ALCOHOL or any other harsh chemical or abrasive substance. To clean, dampen a soft cotton cloth with warm sudsy water, and very gently wipe surface of face.
